Our mission

Probably the most important aspect of a website is its mission or goal. Our goal is to support plant lovers in the care of houseplants in their homes. For this purpose, we create care instructions that leave no questions unanswered. This, without losing ourselves in technical depths.

Our care instructions are intended not only for professionals who are looking for ways to optimize their care, but also for beginners who may be caring for their houseplants for the first time.

The team

At this point, we are finished quite quickly. Currently, the team consists only of me, Richard. I run this website as a hobby and out of passion for plants. At the same time, it serves as a way to document my history and experiences with plants. Therefore, care instructions may evolve over time as I gain new or different experiences with the plants.

I myself, like many others, flared up my passion for houseplants with Corona. Since that time, I have also started to collect rarities. Now my collection includes 137 plants. Most of them are Philodendrons, Monsteras. But also Alocasias, Photos, Syngonias and various Fici may not be missing here!

I am constantly on the lookout for new plants and take the opportunity to exchange ideas with others about the plants and their care. Slowly but surely, however, the space in my greenhouse is running out.

What is your favorite plant?

My favorite plant honestly varies quite often. Often it is a new plant or a plant from my wish list. But currently it is my baby Alocasia Frydek variegata.

Where does the information from your care guides come from?

Our care instructions consist mostly of our own experience. In addition, we use studies, scientific articles, various books and trusted sources. You can find out exactly which sources we used under each post.

What do you do for a living?

Even though I run this website in my spare time, I don’t earn my living with it. I earn my living as a Process and Management Systems Manager. You can find more about my professional career on my LinkedIn profile.

I get many of my rare plants from various marketplaces and some vendors as well as growers from whom I have been buying for some time. In the meantime there are also many plant stores that specialize in rarities. Imports from Asia can also be an option if you already have experience with the plant or genus.
